Taiwanese singer Jay Chou will work with fans to write a song for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The 28-year-old singer said he would like to solicit help on the lyrics from the public in order to write the song. He made this appeal when he was interviewed on a TV program in Beijing on October 21.

Chou usually works with his long-time partner and composer Vincent Fang Wen Shan, but he decided this time to select lyrics from the public before putting them to music.
"I will definitely follow my previous style, with the music having a Chinese flavor, to let foreigners know the charisma of Chinese culture" Chou explained.
"It might add a little bit rock and roll elements," the pianist added, saying he prefers electronic guitar to piano as accompany to give more strength.
Two of Chou's works, Nunchakus and Dragon Fists, were played at the 2004 Athens Olympics, and the singer said he would try to enunciate the lyrics as clearly as possible this time so that it won't sound like he's humming the words.

Taiwan music superstar Jay Chow co-stars with Charlene Choi, of Hong Kong's pop duo Twins, in the film "Kungfu Dunk", the first comedy the pop king has ever tried his hand at.
A press conference to promote the film was held on Thursday.
The release is scheduled for February 7, the first day of the Chinese lunar New Year 2008 season.
Chow, a feverish basketball fan, agreed to headline the cast of this domestic basketball film after he read the script.
Chow demonstrated great skill at playing basketball to complement his extraordinary musical talent.
The film also employed some stunts to better present the intricate visual elements.
Around 600 moves have been perfectly choreographed, including Chow somersaulting through the air.Zhu Yanping, director of the film, invested around 8 million Hong Kong dollars into the production and is hopeful about its box office prospects.
Chow said he practiced basketball twice a week to better perfect his role in the film.
Many professional basketball players were also included in the cast. Chow often played with them to better improve his skill and grace at the game.
Chow even expressed his willingness to challenge Chinese NBA star Yao Ming to a match: "Though he is rather tall, I believe I am more flexible," he said with confidence.
He also said that he wishes to come watch the basketball competition during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
WAH! heard that? the movie will be released on February 7, the first day of CNY season!

Passengers met the multi-talented Taiwanese as part of the airport’s Famous Personalities Programme
Travellers at Changi Airport went wild this afternoon when Taiwan’s pop sensation Jay Chou dropped by for a Meet-and-Greet session at Terminal 1’s Departure/Transit Mall.
The talented singerwriter, actor and now a director, is in Singapore to promote his latest movie, Secret.
Jay was warmly received by the waiting crowd.
The pop star met and mingled with passengers, and took part in a question and answer session. Passengers were thrilled to meet their favourite pop star at Changi Airport.
The meet-and-greet session was made possible by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore’s ongoing Famous Personalities Programme.
Previous sessions featured the Backstreet Boys, Elaine Paige, Eric Johnson, Wang Lee Hom, superstars from Bollywood such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt, all-girl pop classical group Bond, Vanessa-Mae, renowned golfers Colin Montgomerie and Lee Westwood.

Jay throws a fit: What in the world! when Cowboy pointed out to be copied
When his new song "Cowboys are busy" was claimed to be copied, Jay was so furious that he fumed at his Hong Kong concert celebration party. He said for the second time regarding Su Er Zhen (Ninthchords), "What in the world! Who is he? Never heard of him!" After he first saw the news in the afternoon, he immediately went on youtube to listen to accompaniment of the animated movie version of Little Red Riding Hood. After comparing the two songs, he pointed out that Ninthchords should make judgments after he truly understands music. If not, he's being disrespectful to the singer.
Jay angrily expressed that rumors don't need to be clarified, but plagiarism accusations must be clarified. He was so furious that he thought of expressing his anger on his official site. He said: "I really wanted to scold [someone]. I have my own music composition pet-peeve for creating my own songs. Saying that I copied someone is absolutely absurd." He analyzed both pieces from a musical standpoint and pointed out that the accompaniment for Little Red Riding Hood and "Cowboys are busy" are both country music. He can accept comments regarding the similarity in the style and genre of the two songs, but cannot accept the plagiarism accusation.
Afterwards, Jay made fun of himself by saying if someone really wanted to say he copied someone, s/he might as well say the new song "I'm not worthy's" style is similar to "Garden Tour Festival" from Qi Li Xiang (Common Jasmine Orange). Both are R&B songs and the styles are similar to the point that even he thinks they sound alike. He said: "Then I will be copying myself!"

Jay Chou will celebrate his 29th birthday next year with some 8, 000 fans at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The Taiwanese R&B whiz is scheduled to perform a one-night concert here on 19 Jan, as part of his new world tour.
But 80 per cent of the tickets sold within a day when sales started last week – making it the fastest-selling show here in history.
So concert promoter Hype Records has decided to add another show on the day before – 18 Jan – Jay’s birthday.
Priority bookings for tickets to this show, priced between $78 and $198, started today at all Sistic outlets.
Hype Record’s artiste and repertoire director Jonathan Tan told The New Paper that the indoor stadium is already booked on 20 Jan for a basketball league, so he has “no choice” but to take 18 Jan instead.
Surprise? Will there be a birthday surprise for Jay on stage? Mr Tan said it is still too early to plan, but he welcomes suggestions from fans.
Jay will be rehearsing here on 18 Jan, and Mr Tan thought of giving the singer some times off to celebrate with his own friends.
But now that Jay has to perform on his birthday, Mr Tan has to plan something else.
“We will definitely prepare a present for him, maybe something heartwarming that he’d like,” he said.
“But we’re still racking our brains for something special. It’s not so easy to get a present for someone who already has everything.”
When asked if Jay protested against performing on his birthday, Mr Tan said he did not speak to the singer directly, but his managers were “very professional about it”.“
Jay was prepared to sacrifice his birthday for his fans. There is a demand (for Jay’s concert) and we don’t want to disappoint fans.”

It's about the MTV, Rainbow.
In the Cowboy on the Run MV, Jay Chou drove his beloved Bluebird into the set.
Similarly, he put his antique Lamborghini Murcielago to good use in the MV of second hit, Rainbow.
Even though it was the night before the typhoon's arrival, it did not feel as though the rain was coming.
On the contrary, the layers of clouds were even more beautiful, bringing out a different style from the antique car stationed at the Tam-shui seaside.
Jay had noticed the beautiful sky while filming for this MV was in progress, immediately organising the entire filming crew and rushed down to Tam-Shui seaside, only to realise that the movement of the clouds were even more beautiful just before the typhoon's arrival! Without further ado, they quickly made use of the changing lights.
The MV "Rainbow", directed by Jennifer, tells of a guy who has cancer.
Because he wants his girlfriend to have her own happiness in the future, he brought her to every place they have dated before for one last time, and ultimately leaves to study overseas.
The girl originally thought that the guy had forsaken her, but after the guy's father gives her a diary, it has a touching ending.
Jay Chou composed and penned the lyrics for the song "Rainbow". In the lyrics, "Can you give me a mask, stressing one's resignation to fate makes it unreal .
Perhaps time is an antidote, and also a poison that I'm taking now."
Jay expressed, ""Time" is an antidote and can also be a poison, it has the same reasoning as "water can either float a boat or sink it".
Everyone always says that "Time" can clear one's mind after a while though it normally let one falls further and entraps oneself.
Looks like "Rainbow"'s lyrics also expresses Jay Chou's philosophy on Love too!
